The best teleprompter app for iPhone Duo
Why iPhone Duo is the best phone for teleprompter recording, what to look for in an app, and how PromptSlate Studio was built for it.
A teleprompter app on a normal phone means a tiny script and a tripod. iPhone Duo changes both: it stands on its own and gives you a 7.6-inch screen. Here is what to look for in a teleprompter app for it.
Why iPhone Duo is a teleprompter phone
- It stands by itself, half-folded, so you do not need a tripod for desk recording.
- Big inner display for readable text at arm's length.
- Outer display that faces the same way as the rear cameras when folded, which opens up recording with the better cameras.
- Pro video: up to 4K 120 fps Dolby Vision. See our video specs guide.
What a good iPhone Duo teleprompter should do
- Adapt to the expanded, tabletop and compact postures instead of showing a stretched phone layout.
- Keep the script, camera preview and record button on one screen.
- Scroll smoothly at a steady pace you control, or follow your voice.
- Let you switch between saved scripts without leaving the recording screen.
- Work offline and keep your scripts private.
PromptSlate Studio
PromptSlate Studio is our own app and the reason this site exists: a focused workspace that keeps your script, camera preview, recording controls and teleprompter together. You can write, paste or import scripts, prepare your words with Creator Assist, switch scripts while recording and adapt the workspace to expanded, tabletop and compact postures. It is a $9.99 one-time purchase at launch, with no subscription and no ads.
We documented how it is built in a public devlog, including the smooth-scrolling teleprompter, voice follow with speech recognition and the outer display teleprompter.
Quick start
- Write a script of about 130 to 150 words per minute of video.
- Half-fold the Duo on a table at eye level.
- Start the teleprompter slow, then speed it up after the first take.
For full creator setups see our iPhone Duo creator guide.
