How to record the front and back camera at once on iPhone Duo
Dual Capture on iPhone Duo records front and rear cameras together at up to 4K 30 fps. Here is how to use it well.

Dual Capture records the front and rear cameras at the same time, so you can film what you see and your reaction in one video. On iPhone Duo it goes up to 4K Dolby Vision at 30 fps.
What Dual Capture is good for
- Reaction and commentary videos.
- Travel vlogs: the view and you, together.
- Tutorials: your hands on the rear camera, your face on the front.
- Family moments where the person filming wants to be in the video too.
How to use it
- Open the Camera app and switch to video.
- Choose Dual Capture from the camera modes.
- Pick where the front camera picture-in-picture sits.
- Record. Both views are captured in one file.
Tips
- Use the outer 12MP Center Stage camera for the front view, since it is the sharper front camera.
- Hold the phone steady or stand it on a table in tabletop pose.
- Light your face as well as the scene, or the front view will look dark.
- 4K 30 fps is the maximum in Dual Capture, so plan smooth motion around 30 fps.
Edit afterward
Trim and edit the clip on the big inner display. See our editing guide and, for more video modes, the full video specs.
